I had a laugh the other day; a client was justifying spending money on skin care. Sally wants to be able to buy the best she can afford. Her lovely husband noticed more products on the bathroom shelf and said “Have you spent more money on those rip off wrinkle creams” My client, Sally, replied “I love my creams” with that Sally’s husband raved on about how much she spends. Does this sound familiar ladies?…….I hear this too.
So why is it most of us justify our skin care purchases?

Education begins young and learning about your skin type is a process. You start to see changes at a young age and the skin starts to adjust to your maturing body. Did you hit puberty and pimples started to arrive or at 15 did you notice a bit of oil on the t-zone or those monthly pimples on the chin or cheeks became regular occurrences. When one of my clients came in for her waxing the other day, she had no makeup on, this was the first time I had seen her with no makeup. As I looked a little closer I noticed some pigmentation on her face and this is the reason why she came bare faced.
Nat is concerned about her pigmentation, as we chatted about her skin she said and I quote -
“I never wear sunblock except if I’m going to the beach”
As we continued our conversation her understanding of her beautiful skin is, she NEVER burns in the sun…. she just goes brown and so she never worried about sunblock it seemed pointless.
The look of horror on my face…just setting the scene!
I think the look on my face was enough for her to realize she may not burn and turn into a lobster (does anyone know that feeling) but damage is being done to the skin! The damage Read more..
We didn’t have a summer, it rained most of the time and now winter is cold and wet! This is not how your skin should feel. It should feel soft and fresh ready for your moisturizer. Read more..
